Our love for travelling began once we started to celebrate our birthdays by going to some place new. We had everything we needed and all we wanted was to make memories that’ll last a lifetime.

A few short trips a year soon turned into us plucking up the courage to travel the world. We left our families, our careers and comfort zones, embarking on our biggest adventure yet. We spent three months travelling to 10 new countries across South East Asia and finally settled in Australia. Our plan was to start saving so that we could travel more of the world so we had to start working and basically start from scratch. It wasn’t long until the wanderlust in me was sparked again.

Experiences are the best gift

With Max’s birthday approaching we both felt we could do with an escape so it was the perfect excuse for us to get away for a weekend. Back home, for Max’s birthday we’d always go camping near the beach in our van. We’d switch the fairy lights on and watch a movie with a few beers. It was a tradition of ours so we wanted to stick to camping whilst still having a break from living in our van. My search for inspiration began and that’s when I discovered Glamacamp Noosa. Dreamy tents set up wherever you wish- goals! Being outdoor enthusiasts, I reached out to the owners- Lisa and Kym and they were more than happy to accommodate us for Max’s birthday weekend. We were so excited for our first glamping experience.

Our first clamping getaway

The day had finally come, cards were opened and birthday wishes were said. Time for us to go glamping. Everything was set up for us and as we arrived the sun was beginning to set, lighting up the beautiful bell tent with golden hues. Inside featured intricate bohemian details, dried wildflowers, cosy furnishings and candles. Evening soon fell upon us, Max blew out his birthday candles, we sat beneath the stars, gazing at the moon whilst listening to the calming sounds of the ocean. So many magical moments that we won’t ever forget.

Escape the ordinary

This experience reminded me that we don’t need to travel far and wide to get that feeling of escape and relaxation.  Sometimes all we need is our loved ones, nature and a place to rest our heads. Ignite your wanderlust by escaping into the wilderness, immerse yourself in nature and get truly rejuvenated by escaping the ordinary.
